Hello Stress, Goodbye Stress

Category: , , , , , , , , By lawriter
Stress is an internal response to stimuli or pressures that challenge an organism's ability to adapt or cope, disrupting homeostasis or internal balance. Stress may be mental, physiological, anatomical or physical. Stressful stimuli, also known as stressors, range from chemical agents to medical illnesses to a hectic lifestyle. Psychologically, the level of stress can depend on the emotional or cognitive appraisal that a person makes of a situation and of themselves. Stress typically involves activation of the fight-or-flight response. Common neurochemical, hormonal and physiological changes have been elucidated.

Here are some of the common categories and examples of stressors:
  • Sensory: pain, bright light
  • Life events: birth and deaths, marriage, and divorce
  • Responsibilities: lack of money, unemployment
  • Work/study: exams, project deadlines, and group projects
  • Personal relationships: conflict, deception
  • Lifestyle: heavy drinking, insufficient sleep
  • Environmental: Lack of control over environmental circumstances, such as food, housing, health, freedom, or mobility
  • Social: Struggles with specific individuals and social defeat can be potent sources of chronic stresses
  • Adverse experiences during development (e.g. prenatal exposure to maternal stress, poor attachment histories, sexual abuse) are thought to contribute to deficits in the maturity of an individual's stress response systems.
Stress can be seen as a positive phenomena, an evolved adaptive response that can activate internal resources to help overcome challenges and achieve realistic goals. However, chronic stress may develop if stressors are excessive and unavoidable and too many demands are placed on an organism's internal resources. There are also individual differences in sensitivity to stressors and the propensity to the stress response. Severe or chronic stress has been linked to states of exhaustion and correlated with a greater incidence of health conditions and problems with functioning.

But ultimately, stress should be maintain to a minimum so it cannot affect one's lifestyle drastically. One of the most common and most effective way to minimize stress is through massage. Massage involves acting on and manipulating the patient's body with pressure (structured, unstructured, stationary, and/or moving), tension, motion, or vibration done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as lymphatic vessels, and/or organs of the gastrointestinal system. All of which can help lower the effects of stress on an individual.

That is why to reduce stress, one should get a massage. And what can make massages more effective in reducing stress is by using REVIVE.

Revive is an anti-stress massage oil. It is a mix of beneficial, natural herbs that are brought together to form an effective anti-stress massage oil that relieves stress and fatigue, relaxes the body and improves skin texture and keeps it healthy. Revive can be used for body massage in the normal course or when you feel fatigued and stressed after a hard day's work. Apply the oil and gently massage over the body, leave for 10 - 15 minutes and have a warm shower or bath.

So there you go. Say goodbye to stress by having a massage with a little help from Revive.

Get Some SNOOZ, Get Some Zzz's - Sleep Disorders Dissected

Category: , , , , , By lawriter
Somnipathy, or sleep disorder, is a medical disorder of the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental and emotional functioning. A test commonly ordered for some sleep disorders is the polysomnogram. There are several sleep disorders, the most common includes:

  • Bruxism, which is involuntarily grinding or clenching of the teeth while sleeping.
  • Delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS) is the inability to awaken and fall asleep at socially acceptable times but no problem with sleep maintenance, a disorder of circadian rhythms. Other such disorders are advanced sleep phase syndrome (ASPS) and Non-24-hour sleep-wake syndrome (Non-24), both much less common than DSPS.
  • Hypopnea syndrome is an abnormally shallow breathing or slow respiratory rate while sleeping.
  • Narcolepsy is the condition of falling asleep spontaneously and unwillingly at inappropriate times.
  • Night terror, Pavor nocturnus, sleep terror disorder are variations of abrupt awakening from sleep with behavior consistent with terror.
  • Parasomnias include a variety of disruptive sleep-related events.
  • Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) is the sudden involuntary movement of arms and/or legs during sleep, for example kicking the legs. Also known as nocturnal myoclonus. See also Hypnic jerk, which is not a disorder.
  • Rapid eye movement behavior disorder (RBD) involves acting out violent or dramatic dreams while in REM sleep.
  • Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is the irresistible urge to move legs. RLS sufferers often also have PLMD.
  • Shift work sleep disorder (SWSD), a situational circadian rhythm sleep disorder
  • Obstructive sleep apnea, involves an obstruction of the airway during sleep, causing lack of sufficient deep sleep; often accompanied by snoring. Central sleep apnea is less common.
  • Sleep paralysis is characterized by temporary paralysis of the body shortly before or after sleep. Sleep paralysis may be accompanied by visual, auditory or tactile hallucinations. Not a disorder unless severe.
  • Sleepwalking or somnambulism is engaging in activities that are normally associated with wakefulness (such as eating or dressing), which may include walking, without the conscious knowledge of the subject.
These sleep disorders can be classified into two broad classifications: dysomnias and parasomnias.

The most common cause of sleep disorders are changes on one's lifestyle, such as shift work change and other drastic changes with sleeping habits. Other problems that can affect sleep are the following:
  • Anxiety
  • Back pain
  • Chronic pain
  • Sciatica
  • Neck pain
  • Environmental noise
  • Incontinence
  • Various drugs - Many drugs can affect the ratio of the various stages of sleep, thus affecting the overall quality of sleep. Poor sleep can lead to accumulation of Sleep debt.
  • Endocrine imbalance mainly due to Cortisol but not limited to this hormone. Hormone changes due to impending menstruation or during the menopause transition years.
  • Chronobiological disorders, mainly Circadian rhythm disorders
One important way to combat sleep disorders is first to have a healthy sleeping habit. A sleep diary can also be of great help to see if one has some problems. There are also several medical remedies for these problems, and one of the best in the market is SNOOZ.

SNOOZ is an all natural herbal sleep mix that helps soothe nerves. It relaxes the body on account of the destressing capabilities of some of the herbs and promotes relaxed and high quality sleep. SNOOZ is a safe multi-herbal formulation that aids in alleviation of symptoms arising out of insomnia. It contains nerve stabilizing and de-stressing herbs like Withania Somnifera and Centella Asiatica that results in deeper and higher quality of sleep.

Snooz has no known side effects. You will have great sleep and be very alert and wide awake the next day.

List of Smoking-related Diseases Expanded

Category: , , , , , , , , By lawriter
The list of diseases linked to smoking just got longer. This after Surgeon General Richard Carmona release his new assessment of smoking reporting that smoking causes a number of diseases not previously attributed to smoking. These diseases includes the following:
  • acute myeloid leukemia
  • cervical cancer
  • cancer of the kidney
  • pancreatic cancer
  • cancer of the stomach
  • abdominal aortic aneurysm
  • cataracts
  • periodontitis
  • pneumonia
The report also said that smoking may also cause the following diseases, though findings are still inconclusive:
  • colorectal cancer
  • liver cancer
  • prostate cancer
  • erectile dysfunction
Dr. Carmona's report also show that though smoking may not cause breast cancer in women, it may still increase their risk of getting breast cancer if they smoke, depending on their genes.

Studies all over the world have also concluded that smoking takes an average of 13 to 14 years off of a life of smokers, mostly due to illnesses like cancer of the bladder, esophagus, larynx, lung, mouth, throat. Smoking also has been linked to chronic lung disease, chronic heart and cardiovascular disease as well as reproductive problems.

About 440,000 Americans die of smoking-related diseases each year. The report said more than 12 million people have died from smoking-related diseases in the 40 years since the first surgeon general’s report on smoking and health was released in 1964.

That first report linked smoking to lung and larynx cancer and chronic bronchitis. Subsequent reports, like the one released Thursday, have expanded the list of diseases linked to smoking.

The report says treating smoking-related diseases costs the nation $75 billion annually. The loss of productivity from smoking is estimated to be $82 billion annually.

The number of people who smoke has dropped from about 42 percent in 1965 to about 22 percent in 2002, the last year for which such data is available, according to the surgeon general.

But no worry because now, you can safely and effectivly give up smoking forever, without having to poison your body further with chemicals or nicotine based solutions, that have been proven not to work. With a new product, you can say goodbye to your cigars, tobaccos and cigarettes forever. And it is called Zero Nico. This product has a 75% success rate, during clinical studies, compared to 5% for gum, pills, or nicotine patches.

The Zero Nico formula is primarily based around a natural herbal blend. It is safe and non-addictive, and it can provide your "nicotine receptor cells" with the same sensation provided by nicotine. The difference is that you won't crave the sensation anymore after finishing the Zero Nico formula. Remember, patches and gums simply feed you more nicotine. That's NOT the way to break an addictive habit.

Each time you puff on a cigarette, you introduce not only nicotine (a drug) into your body, but also hundreds of other toxic chemicals and carcinogens (some that can kill insects on contact, others that are used to embalm dead bodies). You probably know that cigarette smoking is harmful to your health, increasing your risk for heart disease, lung cancer, and stroke, but did you know that cigarette smoking is one of the main killers in the world? According to the Center for Disease Control, cigarette smoking remains the leading preventable cause of death, accounting for approximately 1 of every 5 deaths (440,000 people) in the United States each year (2003).

Zero Nico Patch fights the three major factors that inhibit smoking cessation efforts:
  • Nicotine addiction
  • Withdrawal symptoms
  • Nicotine intoxication
The herbal formulation in Zero Nico Patch contains ingredients that act as natural substitutes for nicotine; thereby satisfying the body's craving for this substance, without all the negative side effects of patches containing the actual drug, nicotine. The all-natural ingredients will make you crave fewer cigarettes each day. This gradual process allows you to quit with no withdrawal symptoms and requires less willpower and effort on your part.

After analyzing many applicable studies and products currently sold on the market, we have developed a revolutionary formula, found in Zero Nico Patch, which guarantees smoking cessation in a very short period. Withdrawal symptoms will be milder due to the all-natural nicotine substitute, which helps you shake the nicotine habit gradually, with less physical and emotional stress. Furthermore, to help you through the process, Zero Nico's herbal formulation helps decrease the anxiety and depression that affect most people who are trying to quit smoking.

The nicotine content in your system will gradually decrease as you continue to wear the patch. To help you speed up this important process, Zero Nico contains ingredients with distinctive antioxidant properties, to detoxify your body and eliminate the nicotine stored in your cells. Most of the harmful effects of smoking will start to disappear once you stop smoking completely.

The patch application method allows the active ingredients to penetrate the skin and reach the bloodstream faster and more conveniently than any other method. Other methods, such as pills or lozenges, must be taken several times per day, since they lose many of their active ingredients as they are processed by stomach acid, minimizing their effectiveness. The revolutionary patch system eliminates the need to remember to take pills. Simply apply a new Zero Nico Patch every three days. It's that easy!

So what are waiting for? Order Zero Nico now and say goodbye to your nasty smoking habit and live a very healthy and wonderful life...

Heart Diseases, Explained

Category: , , , , , By lawriter
Heart disease is an umbrella term for a number of different diseases affecting the heart. And as of 2007, it is the leading cause of death in the United States, England, Canada and Wales, killing one person every 34 seconds in the United States alone. There are several types of heart disease, such as:

Coronary heart disease - a disease of the artery caused by the accumulation of atheromatous plaques within the walls of the arteries that supply the myocardium. Angina pectoris (chest pain) and myocardial infarction (heart attack) are symptoms of and conditions caused by coronary heart disease.

Over 451,000 Americans die of coronary heart disease every year. In the United Kingdom, 101,000 deaths annually are due to coronary heart disease.

Cardiomyopathy - literally means "heart muscle disease". It is the deterioration of the function of the myocardium for any reason. People with cardiomyopathy are often at risk of arrhythmia and/or sudden cardiac death. There are two kinds of cardiomyopathy, extrinsic and intrinsic cardiomyopathies.

Extrinsic cardiomyopathies are cardiomyopathies where the primary pathology is outside the myocardium itself. Most cardiomyopathies are extrinsic, because by far the most common cause of a cardiomyopathy is ischemia. The World Health Organization calls these specific cardiomyopathies:
  • Alcoholic cardiomyopathy
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Nutritional diseases affecting the heart
  • Ischemic (or ischaemic) cardiomyopathy
  • Hypertensive cardiomyopathy
  • Valvular cardiomyopathy
  • Inflammatory cardiomyopathy
  • Cardiomyopathy secondary to a systemic metabolic disease
Intrinsic cardiomyopathies are weaknesses in the muscle of the heart that is not due to an identifiable external cause.
  • Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) - most common form, and one of the leading indications for heart transplantation. In DCM the heart (especially the left ventricle) is enlarged and the pumping function is diminished.
  • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM or HOCM) - genetic disorder caused by various mutations in genes encoding sarcomeric proteins. In HCM the heart muscle is thickened, which can obstruct blood flow and prevent the heart from functioning properly.
  • Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) - arises from an electrical disturbance of the heart in which heart muscle is replaced by fibrous scar tissue. The right ventricle is generally most affected.
  • Restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM) - least common cardiomyopathy. The walls of the ventricles are stiff, but may not be thickened, and resist the normal filling of the heart with blood.
  • Noncompaction Cardiomyopathy - the left ventricle wall has failed to properly grow from birth and such has a spongy appearance when viewed during an echocardiogram.
Cardiovascular disease is any of a number of specific diseases that affect the heart itself and/or the blood vessel system, especially the veins and arteries leading to and from the heart. Research on disease dimorphism suggests that women who suffer with cardiovascular disease usually suffer from forms that affect the blood vessels while men usually suffer from forms that affect the heart muscle itself. Known or associated causes of cardiovascular disease include diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperhomocysteinemia and hypercholesterolemia.

Ischaemic heart disease is another disease of the heart itself, characterized by reduced blood supply to the organs.

Heart failure, also called congestive heart failure (or CHF) and congestive cardiac failure (CCF), is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body.

Hypertensive heart disease is heart disease caused by high blood pressure, especially localised high blood pressure. Conditions that can be caused by hypertensive heart disease include:
  • Left ventricular hypertrophy
  • Coronary heart disease
  • (Congestive) heart failure
  • Hypertensive cardiomyopathy
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
Inflammatory heart disease involves inflammation of the heart muscle and/or the tissue surrounding it.
  • Endocarditis - inflammation of the inner layer of the heart, the endocardium. The most common structures involved are the heart valves.
  • Inflammatory cardiomegaly
  • Myocarditis - inflammation of the myocardium, the muscular part of the heart.
Valvular heart disease is any disease process involving one or more valves of the heart. The valves in the right side of the heart are the tricuspid valve and the pulmonic valve. The valves in the left side of the heart are the mitral valve and the aortic valve.
  • Aortic valve stenosis
  • Mitral valve prolapse
  • Valvular cardiomyopathy
There are too much illnesses that can plagued out heart, which is probably the one of the most important part of our body, if not the most important. So we have to take care of it always. And one way to take care of it is by using this new product that will help us maintain a healthy life and a healthy lifestyle.

Take Off That Chest Burden, Say Bye-bye to Asthma

Category: , , , , , , By lawriter
Asthma is a chronic condition involving the respiratory system in which the airways occasionally constrict, become inflamed, and are lined with excessive amounts of mucus, often in response to one or more triggers. These episodes may be triggered by such things as exposure to an environmental stimulant such as an allergen, environmental tobacco smoke, cold or warm air, perfume, pet dander, moist air, exercise or exertion, or emotional stress. In children, the most common triggers are viral illnesses such as those that cause the common cold. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing. The airway constriction responds to bronchodilators. Between episodes, most patients feel well but can have mild symptoms and they may remain short of breath after exercise for longer periods of time than the unaffected individual. The symptoms of asthma, which can range from mild to life threatening, can usually be controlled with a combination of drugs and environmental changes.

Asthma is caused by a complex interaction of genetic and environmental factors that researchers do not fully understand yet. These factors can also influence how severe a person’s asthma is and how well they respond to medication. As with other complex diseases, many genetic and environmental factors have been suggested as causes of asthma, but not all of them have been replicated. In addition, as researchers detangle the complex causes of asthma, it is becoming more evident that certain environmental and genetic factors may only affect asthma when combined.

The hygiene hypothesis is a theory about the cause of asthma and other allergic disease, and is supported by epidemiologic data for asthma. For example, asthma prevalence has been increasing in developed countries along with increased use of antibiotics, c-sections, and cleaning products. All of these things may negatively affect exposure to beneficial bacteria and other immune system modulators that are important during development, and thus may cause increased risk for asthma and allergy.

Many environmental risk factors have been associated with asthma, including the following:
  • Poor air quality, from traffic pollution or high ozone levels, has been repeatedly associated with increased asthma morbidity and has a suggested association with asthma development that needs further research.
  • Environmental tobacco smoke, especially maternal cigarette smoking, is associated with high risk of asthma prevalence and asthma morbidity, wheeze, and respiratory infections.
  • Viral respiratory infections at an early age, along with siblings and day care exposure, may be protective against asthma, although there have been controversial results, and this protection may depend on genetic context.
  • Antibiotic use early in life has been linked to development of asthma in several examples; it is thought that antibiotics make one susceptible to development of asthma because they modify gut flora, and thus the immune system (as described by the hygiene hypothesis).
  • Caesarean sections have been associated with asthma when compared with vaginal birth; a meta-analysis found a 20% increase in asthma prevalence in children delivered by Caesarean section compared to those who were not. It was proposed that this is due to modified bacterial exposure during Caesarean section compared with vaginal birth, which modifies the immune system (as described by the hygiene hypothesis).
  • Psychological stress on the part of a child's caregiver has been associated with asthma, and is an area of active research. Stress can modify behaviors that affect asthma, like smoking, but research suggests that stress has other effects as well. There is growing evidence that stress may influence asthma and other diseases by influencing the immune system.
Over 100 genes have also been associated with asthma in at least one genetic association study. However through the end of 2005, only 25 genes had been associated with asthma in six or more separate populations:
  • GSTM1
  • IL10
  • CTLA4
  • SPINK5
  • LTC4S
  • LTA
  • GRPA
  • NOD1
  • CC16
  • GSTP1
  • STAT6
  • NOS1
  • CCL5
  • TBXA2R
  • TGFB1
  • IL4
  • IL13
  • CD14
  • ADRB2 (ß-2 adrenergic receptor)
  • HLA-DRB1
  • HLA-DQB1
  • TNF
  • FCER1B
  • IL4R
  • ADAM33
Many of these genes are related to the immune system or to modulating inflammation. However, even among this list of highly replicated genes associated with asthma, the results have not been consistent among all of the populations that have been tested. This indicates that these genes are not associated with asthma under every condition, and that researchers need to do further investigation to figure out the complex interactions that cause asthma.

In some individuals asthma is characterized by chronic respiratory impairment. In others it is an intermittent illness marked by episodic symptoms that may result from a number of triggering events, including upper respiratory infection, stress, airborne allergens, air pollutants (such as smoke or traffic fumes), or exercise. Some or all of the following symptoms may be present in those with asthma: dyspnea, wheezing, stridor, coughing, an inability for physical exertion. Some asthmatics who have severe shortness of breath and tightening of the lungs never wheeze or have stridor and their symptoms may be confused with a COPD-type disease.

Signs of an asthmatic episode include wheezing, prolonged expiration, a rapid heart rate (tachycardia), rhonchous lung sounds (audible through a stethoscope), the presence of a paradoxical pulse (a pulse that is weaker during inhalation and stronger during exhalation), and over-inflation of the chest. During a serious asthma attack, the accessory muscles of respiration (sternocleidomastoid and scalene muscles of the neck) may be used, shown as in-drawing of tissues between the ribs and above the sternum and clavicles.

There are several known solutions for asthma and shortness of breath that have been tried all these years. But recently, a faster and more effective way to stop this condition have been found. And not only that, it is also safe because it is 100% natural. And it is called No-Gasp.

No-Gasp has nutritional resources that aid the airways to neutralize and reject airborne particles such as environmental pollutants, pollen grains, dust particles and other allergens, thereby protecting the delicate tissues of the respiratory system. Thus, No-Gasp will be very effective to stop any asthmatic conditions, irritation of airways, congested air pipe, difficulty in breathing and inflammation of lungs and bronchi.

By just taking two to three capsules of No-Gasp everyday, you will see the all-natural ingredients of this product take its effect in getting rid of your asthma and shortness of breath. There are also no side effects in taking this product, making it the most effective and safest drug for any respiratory condition.

Just take No-Gasp, and in no time, you will be breathing fresh air just like you're intended to.

Kids Can Get Arthritis Too

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), formerly known as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), is the most common form of persistent arthritis in children. JIA is sometimes referred to as juvenile chronic arthritis (JCA), a term that is not precise as JIA does not encompass all forms of chronic childhood arthritis. Arthritis is the inflammation of the synovium (the lining tissues) of a joint.

JIA is a subset of arthritis seen in childhood, which may be transient and self-limited or chronic. It differs significantly from arthritis commonly seen in adults (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis), and other types of arthritis that can present in childhood which are chronic conditions (e.g. psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis).

Symptoms of JIA are often non-specific initially, and include lethargy, reduced physical activity, and poor appetite (often due to medication). The first manifestation, particularly in young children, may be limping. Children may also become quite ill, presenting with flu-like syptoms that persist. The cardinal clinical feature is persistent swelling of the affected joints, which commonly include the knee, ankle, wrist and small joints of the hands and feet. Swelling may be difficult to detect clinically, especially for joints such as those of the spine, sacroiliac joints, shoulder, hip and jaw, where imaging techniques such as ultrasound or MRI are very useful.

Pain is an important feature of JIA, but young children may have difficulty in communicating this symptom. Late effects of arthritis include joint contracture (stiff, bent joint) and joint damage. Children with JIA vary in the degree to which they are affected by particular symptoms.

The cause of JIA is unknown and currently an area of active research. Current understanding of JIA suggests that it arises in a genetically susceptible individual due to environmental factors.

There are three major types of JIA:
  • oligoarticular JIA - affects 5 or fewer joints in the first 6 months of illness. It was previously known as pauciarticular JIA.
  • polyarticular JIA - affects 5 or more joints in the first 6 months of disease. This subtype can include the affect of the neck and jaw as well as the small joints usually affected. This type of JIA is more common in small girls to that of boys.
  • systemic JIA (Still's Disease) - is characterized by arthritis, fever and a salmon pink rash. Systemic JIA can be challenging to diagnose because the fever and rash come and go. It affects males and females equally, unlike the other two subtypes of JIA. Systemic JIA may have internal organ involvement and lead to serositis (e.g. pericarditis).
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis affects an estimated 300,000 children in the United States. Of these children, 50 percent have pauciarticular JIA, 40 percent have polyarticular JIA and 10 percent have systemic JIA.

But kids and parents need not to worry. Because there is a sure way they can battle this condition plaguing theit cheerful youth. And it is called JOYNT.

Bye-bye Hangover

Category: , , , , , By lawriter
What is a "hangover"? Well, it turns out, there is more to this than just being pissed drunk and crazy after a long night of drinking. If you wanna learn what it is, then read along...

A hangover, which is also known as veisalgia, describes the sum of unpleasant physiological effects following heavy consumption of drugs, particularly alcoholic beverages. The most commonly reported characteristics of a hangover include headache, nausea, sensitivity to light and noise, lethargy, dysphoria and thirst. The real cause of this anatomical phenomenon is actually still disputed but some theories include hypoglycemia, dehydration, acetaldehyde intoxication, and vitamin B12 deficiency. Hangovers may last up to two or three days after alcohol was last consumed.

An alcohol hangover is associated with a variety of symptoms that may include dehydration, fatigue, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, elevated body temperature, hypersalivation, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, irritability, sensitivity to light and noise, erratic motor functions, trouble sleeping, lack of depth perception and/or hair loss. Many people will also be repulsed by the thought or taste of alcohol during a hangover. The symptoms vary from person to person, and occasion to occasion, usually beginning several hours after drinking. It is not clear whether hangovers affect cognitive abilities.

Hangovers are multi-causal. Ethanol has a dehydrating effect by causing increased urine production (such substances are known as diuretics), which causes headaches, dry mouth, and lethargy. Dehydration causes the brain to shrink away from the skull slightly. This can be mitigated by drinking water or an oral electrolyte solution after consumption of alcohol. Alcohol's effect on the stomach lining can account for nausea. Because of the increased NADH production during metabolism of ethanol by the enzymes alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase, excess NADH can build up and slow down gluconeogenesis in the liver, thus causing hypoglycemia.

Another factor contributing to a hangover are the products from the breakdown of ethanol via liver enzymes. Ethanol is converted to acetaldehyde by the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase, and then from acetaldehyde to acetic acid by the enzyme acetaldehyde dehydrogenase. Acetaldehyde (ethanal) is mildly toxic, contributing to hangover. These two reactions also require the conversion of NAD+ to NADH. With an excess of NADH, the lactate dehydrogenase reaction is driven to produce lactate from pyruvate (the end product of glycolysis) in order to regenerate NAD+ and sustain life. This diverts pyruvate from other pathways such as gluconeogenesis, thereby impairing the ability of the liver to supply glucose to tissues, especially the brain. Because glucose is the primary energy source of the brain, this lack of glucose contributes to hangover symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, mood disturbances, and decreased attention and concentration.

There is debate about whether a hangover might be prevented or at least mitigated. There is currently no known proven mechanism for making oneself sober short of waiting for the body to metabolize ingested alcohol, which occurs via oxidation through the liver before alcohol leaves the body. However, drinking a large amount of water or a rehydration drink prior to sleep will effectively reduce a large proportion of the symptoms.

But not anymore. Because recently, a new herbal concoction was discovered that can help strike down the causes of hangovers. And it is called HANG OFF.

HANG OFF will prevent hangovers because its the herbal constituents help in quicker degeneration and excretion of Acetaldehyde, produced during the course of breakdown of ingested alcohol. The herbs in Hang Off have also been proved to act extremely efficiently on symptoms like nausea, headache and a queasy stomach.

Aside from these, HANG OFF also helps by promoting these three actions:
  • Helps prevent headache, nausea and other gastronomic hangover symptoms.
  • Provides support to the digestive system and helps avoid an upset tummy.
  • Aids in the quick degeneration and ejection of byproducts of alcohol breakdown.
By just taking two capsules of HANG OFF before you start drinking the night away, you will now be sure that you will only get drunk that night and not feel its after effects the day after.

So what else are you waiting for? Just use HANG OFF to be able to enjoy drinks with your friends minus the hassles of hangover the next morning.

Importance of Oxygen

Category: , , , By lawriter
As we all know, human existence will not be possible if not for one very important thing - OXYGEN. Aside from being used in just about anything people do in their everyday lives, oxygen's main purpose is to actually give life to people. Biological functions that actually supports life is dependent on this seeming innocent thing we can't even see. What am I talking about? Here...

All major classes of structural molecules in living organisms, such as proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, contain oxygen, as do the major inorganic compounds that comprise animal shells, teeth, and bone. Oxygen in the form of O2 is produced from water by cyanobacteria, algae and plants during photosynthesis and is used in cellular respiration for all complex life.

Uptake of O2 from the air is the essential purpose of respiration, so oxygen supplementation is used in medicine. Oxygen therapy is used to treat emphysema, pneumonia, some heart disorders, and any disease that impairs the body's ability to take up and use gaseous oxygen. Treatments are flexible enough to be used in hospitals, the patient's home, or increasingly by portable devices. Oxygen tents were once commonly used in oxygen supplementation, but have since been replaced mostly by the use of oxygen masks or nasal cannulas.
Hyperbaric (high-pressure) medicine uses special oxygen chambers to increase the partial pressure of O2 around the patient and, when needed, the medical staff. Carbon monoxide poisoning, gas gangrene, and decompression sickness (the 'bends') are sometimes treated using these devices. Increased O2 concentration in the lungs helps to displace carbon monoxide from the heme group of hemoglobin. Oxygen gas is poisonous to the anaerobic bacteria that cause gas gangrene, so increasing its partial pressure helps kill them. Decompression sickness occurs in divers who decompress too quickly after a dive, resulting in bubbles of inert gas, mostly nitrogen and argon, forming in their blood. Increasing the pressure of O2 as soon as possible is part of the treatment.

Oxygen is also used medically for patients who require mechanical ventilation, often at concentrations above the 21% found in ambient air.

Don't take my words for it, here are other importance of oxygen, as stated by some professionals:

"...When the body has ample oxygen, it produces enought energy to optimize metabolism and eliminate accumulated toxic wastes in the tissues. Natural immunity is achieved when the immune system is not burdened with heavy "toxic buildup". Detoxification occurs when oxygen is introduced into the system."
- Dr. Norman McVea

"...Insufficient oxygen means insufficient biological energy that can result in anything from mild fatigue to life threatening disease. The link beweeen insufficient oxygen and disease has now been firmly established. The more oxygen we have in our system, the more energy we produce."
- Dr. W. Spencer Way: Journal of the American Association of Physicians

Acne, or it's more technical term "acne vulgaris," is a skin disease caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units, which are the skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland. Acne is most common during adolescence, affecting more than 85% of teenagers, and frequently continues into adulthood. For most people, acne diminishes over time and tends to disappear — or at the very least decrease — after one reaches his or her early twenties. There is, however, no way to predict how long it will take to disappear entirely, and some individuals will continue to suffer well into their thirties, forties and beyond.

Acne can be caused by any of the following:
  • As a result of blockages in follicles
  • Heredity
  • Hormonal activity, such as menstrual cycles and puberty
  • Hyperactive sebaceous glands
  • Accumulation of dead skin cells

  • Skin irritation or scratching of any sort
  • Use of anabolic steroids

A Breathtaking Cure for Asthma

Asthma is a chronic condition involving the respiratory system in which the airway occasionally constricts, becomes inflamed, and is lined with excessive amounts of mucus, often in response to one or more triggers. These may be triggered by exposure to an environmental stimulant or allergen such as cold air, warm air, perfume, moist air, exercise or exertion, or emotional stress. Public attention in the developed world has recently focused on asthma because of its rapidly increasing prevalence, affecting up to one in four urban children.

The symptoms of asthma, which can range from mild to life threatening, can usually be controlled with a combination of drugs and environmental changes. However, these are just the symptoms and not asthma itself. That is why a new and better product that can totally cure asthma is a much better alternative than just curing its symptoms. The simple logic of no asthma means no symptoms just makes more sense. That is why we bring you NO-GASP.

Are you one of those people who have been ranting about stopping smoking? Because after years of burning your health, added to that burning hard-earned cash, you realized that smoking isn't that cool as much as you thought it was when you were a curious little kid who sees his/her friends doing it. You've learned that smoking doesn't really have any good for you, but instead is just killing you to a very slow death. But after countless tried to quit this evil vice, you still end up lighting on up and burning your life further. Well, to help you a bit, I'll just enumerate some of the things smoking is and will be doing to you...
  • Tobacco smoke contributes to the development of number of cancers.
  • The mixture of nicotine and carbon monoxide in each cigarette you smoke temporarily increases your heart rate and blood pressure, straining your heart and blood vessels.
  • Smoking can cause heart attacks and stroke. It slows your blood flow, cutting off oxygen to your feet and hands. Some smokers end up having their limbs amputated.
  • Tar coats your lungs like soot in a chimney and causes cancer. A 20-a-day smoker breathes in up to a full cup (210 g) of tar in a year.
  • Changing to low-tar cigarettes does not help because smokers usually take deeper puffs and hold the smoke in for longer, dragging the tar deeper into their lungs.
  • Carbon monoxide robs your muscles, brain and body tissue of oxygen, making your whole body and especially your heart work harder. Over time, your airways swell up and let less air into your lungs.
  • Smoking causes disease and is a slow way to die. The strain put on your body by smoking often causes years of suffering. Emphysema is an illness that slowly rots your lungs. People with emphysema often get bronchitis again and again, and suffer lung and heart failure.
  • Lung cancer from smoking is caused by the tar in tobacco smoke. Men who smoke are ten times more likely to die from lung cancer than non-smokers.
  • Heart disease and strokes are also more common among smokers than non-smokers.
  • Smoking causes fat deposits to narrow and block blood vessels which leads to heart attack.
  • Smoking causes around one in five deaths from heart disease.
  • In younger people, three out of four deaths from heart disease are due to smoking.
So basically, SMOKING KILLS!!!

But don't you worry because an innovative new product has been developed to help you quit smoking forever, safely and effectively. This means you don't have to poison your body further with smoking.
