Hello Stress, Goodbye Stress

Category: , , , , , , , , By lawriter
Stress is an internal response to stimuli or pressures that challenge an organism's ability to adapt or cope, disrupting homeostasis or internal balance. Stress may be mental, physiological, anatomical or physical. Stressful stimuli, also known as stressors, range from chemical agents to medical illnesses to a hectic lifestyle. Psychologically, the level of stress can depend on the emotional or cognitive appraisal that a person makes of a situation and of themselves. Stress typically involves activation of the fight-or-flight response. Common neurochemical, hormonal and physiological changes have been elucidated.

Here are some of the common categories and examples of stressors:
  • Sensory: pain, bright light
  • Life events: birth and deaths, marriage, and divorce
  • Responsibilities: lack of money, unemployment
  • Work/study: exams, project deadlines, and group projects
  • Personal relationships: conflict, deception
  • Lifestyle: heavy drinking, insufficient sleep
  • Environmental: Lack of control over environmental circumstances, such as food, housing, health, freedom, or mobility
  • Social: Struggles with specific individuals and social defeat can be potent sources of chronic stresses
  • Adverse experiences during development (e.g. prenatal exposure to maternal stress, poor attachment histories, sexual abuse) are thought to contribute to deficits in the maturity of an individual's stress response systems.
Stress can be seen as a positive phenomena, an evolved adaptive response that can activate internal resources to help overcome challenges and achieve realistic goals. However, chronic stress may develop if stressors are excessive and unavoidable and too many demands are placed on an organism's internal resources. There are also individual differences in sensitivity to stressors and the propensity to the stress response. Severe or chronic stress has been linked to states of exhaustion and correlated with a greater incidence of health conditions and problems with functioning.

But ultimately, stress should be maintain to a minimum so it cannot affect one's lifestyle drastically. One of the most common and most effective way to minimize stress is through massage. Massage involves acting on and manipulating the patient's body with pressure (structured, unstructured, stationary, and/or moving), tension, motion, or vibration done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as lymphatic vessels, and/or organs of the gastrointestinal system. All of which can help lower the effects of stress on an individual.

That is why to reduce stress, one should get a massage. And what can make massages more effective in reducing stress is by using REVIVE.

Revive is an anti-stress massage oil. It is a mix of beneficial, natural herbs that are brought together to form an effective anti-stress massage oil that relieves stress and fatigue, relaxes the body and improves skin texture and keeps it healthy. Revive can be used for body massage in the normal course or when you feel fatigued and stressed after a hard day's work. Apply the oil and gently massage over the body, leave for 10 - 15 minutes and have a warm shower or bath.

So there you go. Say goodbye to stress by having a massage with a little help from Revive.

Get Some SNOOZ, Get Some Zzz's - Sleep Disorders Dissected

Somnipathy, or sleep disorder, is a medical disorder of the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental and emotional functioning. A test commonly ordered for some sleep disorders is the polysomnogram. There are several sleep disorders, the most common includes:

  • Bruxism, which is involuntarily grinding or clenching of the teeth while sleeping.
  • Delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS) is the inability to awaken and fall asleep at socially acceptable times but no problem with sleep maintenance, a disorder of circadian rhythms. Other such disorders are advanced sleep phase syndrome (ASPS) and Non-24-hour sleep-wake syndrome (Non-24), both much less common than DSPS.
  • Hypopnea syndrome is an abnormally shallow breathing or slow respiratory rate while sleeping.
  • Narcolepsy is the condition of falling asleep spontaneously and unwillingly at inappropriate times.
  • Night terror, Pavor nocturnus, sleep terror disorder are variations of abrupt awakening from sleep with behavior consistent with terror.
  • Parasomnias include a variety of disruptive sleep-related events.
  • Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) is the sudden involuntary movement of arms and/or legs during sleep, for example kicking the legs. Also known as nocturnal myoclonus. See also Hypnic jerk, which is not a disorder.
  • Rapid eye movement behavior disorder (RBD) involves acting out violent or dramatic dreams while in REM sleep.
  • Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is the irresistible urge to move legs. RLS sufferers often also have PLMD.
  • Shift work sleep disorder (SWSD), a situational circadian rhythm sleep disorder
  • Obstructive sleep apnea, involves an obstruction of the airway during sleep, causing lack of sufficient deep sleep; often accompanied by snoring. Central sleep apnea is less common.
  • Sleep paralysis is characterized by temporary paralysis of the body shortly before or after sleep. Sleep paralysis may be accompanied by visual, auditory or tactile hallucinations. Not a disorder unless severe.
  • Sleepwalking or somnambulism is engaging in activities that are normally associated with wakefulness (such as eating or dressing), which may include walking, without the conscious knowledge of the subject.
These sleep disorders can be classified into two broad classifications: dysomnias and parasomnias.

The most common cause of sleep disorders are changes on one's lifestyle, such as shift work change and other drastic changes with sleeping habits. Other problems that can affect sleep are the following:
  • Anxiety
  • Back pain
  • Chronic pain
  • Sciatica
  • Neck pain
  • Environmental noise
  • Incontinence
  • Various drugs - Many drugs can affect the ratio of the various stages of sleep, thus affecting the overall quality of sleep. Poor sleep can lead to accumulation of Sleep debt.
  • Endocrine imbalance mainly due to Cortisol but not limited to this hormone. Hormone changes due to impending menstruation or during the menopause transition years.
  • Chronobiological disorders, mainly Circadian rhythm disorders
One important way to combat sleep disorders is first to have a healthy sleeping habit. A sleep diary can also be of great help to see if one has some problems. There are also several medical remedies for these problems, and one of the best in the market is SNOOZ.

SNOOZ is an all natural herbal sleep mix that helps soothe nerves. It relaxes the body on account of the destressing capabilities of some of the herbs and promotes relaxed and high quality sleep. Male Patter Baldness, Explained

Going bald and losing hair is a fact of life for millions of men. Adults lose about 10,000 scalp hairs each day. Hair normally lives for around five years. With male pattern baldness these hairs do not always get replaced and gradually bald areas appear. This process can however take a long time and the age at which you start to lose hair does not necessarily provide any clues as to how long it will be until you define yourself as bald.

Most men are genetically predisposed to male pattern baldness. It is the effect of hormones on the hair follicle that produces male pattern baldness. Testosterone, a hormone that is present in high levels in males after puberty, is converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase. DHT has an adverse affect on the hair follicles. Acting on a hormone receptor on the hair follicle it slows down hair production and produces weak, shorter hair, sometimes it stops hair growth from the follicle completely. This process gradually depletes your stock of hair and is normal hair loss.

Baldness can also be caused by several illnesses and conditions. These health conditions that can cause male hair loss include:
  • High temperature associated with infections or flu.
  • Thyroid and pituitary problems
  • Some medical treatments; radiotherapy, side effects of medications such as interferon, chemotherapy and steroids can all cause hair loss.
  • Stress
  • Psychological problems such as trichotillomania where some people pull out their hair
  • Exposure to dangerous chemicals such as thallium acetate
  • Fungal infections of the scalp
  • Ringworm
  • Burns
  • Alpaca Areata Universalis, where the whole body is affected, or totalis where the whole of the scalp becomes bald.
Profinast is a special combination of fine herbs, vitamins and nutrients. Profinast provides nutritional support right from the scalp to the hair root. One of the main reasons of hair loss in men is formation of DHT, a male hormone. Profinast works to stop hair loss and improve hair re-growth on male-pattern baldness. Profinast works by blocking the formation of DHT, which is a male hormone responsible for hair shrinkage, eventually leading to hair fall. Thus, Profinast helps reverse hair follicle shrinkage, promote hair re-growth and provide nutrition to the overall scalp.

Profinast is 100% safe and all natural formula containing fine herbs, essential vitamins and important nutrients to arrest hair fall immediately. Profinast doesn’t contain any synthetic chemicals or harmful compounds, and it doesn’t have any reported side effects. But as the rule goes, if you are unsure of your medical condition, or suffering from any critical ailment, please review all the ingredients with your health care professional.

Profinast is meant to reverse hair loss in heavy hair loss situations and hair re-growth in male-pattern baldness.

List of Smoking-related Diseases Expanded

Category: , , , , , , , , By lawriter
The list of diseases linked to smoking just got longer. This after Surgeon General Richard Carmona release his new assessment of smoking reporting that smoking causes a number of diseases not previously attributed to smoking. These diseases includes the following:
  • acute myeloid leukemia
  • cervical cancer
  • cancer of the kidney
  • pancreatic cancer
  • cancer of the stomach
  • abdominal aortic aneurysm
  • cataracts
  • periodontitis
  • pneumonia
The report also said that smoking may also cause the following diseases, though findings are still inconclusive:
  • colorectal cancer
  • liver cancer
  • prostate cancer
  • erectile dysfunction
Dr. Carmona's report also show that though smoking may not cause breast cancer in women, it may still increase their risk of getting breast cancer if they smoke, depending on their genes.

Studies all over the world have also concluded that smoking takes an average of 13 to 14 years off of a life of smokers, mostly due to illnesses like cancer of the bladder, esophagus, larynx, lung, mouth, throat. Smoking also has been linked to chronic lung disease, chronic heart and cardiovascular disease as well as reproductive problems.

About 440,000 Americans die of smoking-related diseases each year. The report said more than 12 million people have died from smoking-related diseases in the 40 years since the first surgeon general’s report on smoking and health was released in 1964.

That first report linked smoking to lung and larynx cancer and chronic bronchitis. Subsequent reports, like the one released Thursday, have expanded the list of diseases linked to smoking.

The report says treating smoking-related diseases costs the nation $75 billion annually. The loss of productivity from smoking is estimated to be $82 billion annually.

The number of people who smoke has dropped from about 42 percent in 1965 to about 22 percent in 2002, the last year for which such data is available, according to the surgeon general.

But no worry because now, you can safely and effectivly give up smoking forever, without having to poison your body further with chemicals or nicotine based solutions, that have been proven not to work. With a new product, you can say goodbye to your cigars, tobaccos and cigarettes forever. And it is called Zero Nico. This product has a 75% success rate, during clinical studies, compared to 5% for gum, pills, or nicotine patches.

The Zero Nico formula is primarily based around a natural herbal blend. It is safe and non-addictive, and it can provide your "nicotine receptor cells" with the same sensation provided by nicotine. The difference is that you won't crave the sensation anymore after finishing the Zero Nico formula. Remember, patches and gums simply feed you more nicotine. That's NOT the way to break an addictive habit.

Each time you puff on a cigarette, you introduce not only nicotine (a drug) into your body, but also hundreds of other toxic chemicals and carcinogens (some that can kill insects on contact, others that are used to embalm dead bodies). You probably know that cigarette smoking is harmful to your health, increasing your risk for heart disease, lung cancer, and stroke, but did you know that cigarette smoking is one of the main killers in the world? According to the Center for Disease Control, cigarette smoking remains the leading preventable cause of death, accounting for approximately 1 of every 5 deaths (440,000 people) in the United States each year (2003).

Zero Nico Patch fights the three major factors that inhibit smoking cessation efforts:
  • Nicotine addiction
  • Withdrawal symptoms
  • Nicotine intoxication
The herbal formulation in Zero Nico Patch contains ingredients that act as natural substitutes for nicotine; thereby satisfying the body's craving for this substance, without all the negative side effects of patches containing the actual drug, nicotine. The all-natural ingredients will make you crave fewer cigarettes each day. This gradual process allows you to quit with no withdrawal symptoms and requires less willpower and effort on your part.

After analyzing many applicable studies and products currently sold on the market, we have developed a revolutionary formula, found in Zero Nico Patch, which guarantees smoking cessation in a very short period. Withdrawal symptoms will be milder due to the all-natural nicotine substitute, which helps you shake the nicotine habit gradually, with less physical and emotional stress. Furthermore, to help you through the process, Zero Nico's herbal formulation helps decrease the anxiety and depression that affect most people who are trying to quit smoking.

The nicotine content in your system will gradually decrease as you continue to wear the patch. To help you speed up this important process, Zero Nico contains ingredients with distinctive antioxidant properties, to detoxify your body and eliminate the nicotine stored in your cells. Most of the harmful effects of smoking will start to disappear once you stop smoking completely.

The patch application method allows the active ingredients to penetrate the skin and reach the bloodstream faster and more conveniently than any other method. Other methods, such as pills or lozenges, must be taken several times per day, since they lose many of their active ingredients as they are processed by stomach acid, minimizing their effectiveness. The revolutionary patch system eliminates the need to remember to take pills. Simply apply a new Zero Nico Patch every three days. It's that easy!

So what are waiting for? Order Zero Nico now and say goodbye to your nasty smoking habit and live a very healthy and wonderful life...

Heart Diseases, Explained

Category: , , , , , By lawriter
Heart disease is an umbrella term for a number of different diseases affecting the heart. And as of 2007, it is the leading cause of death in the United States, England, Canada and Wales, killing one person every 34 seconds in the United States alone. There are several types of heart disease, such as:

Coronary heart disease - a disease of the artery caused by the accumulation of atheromatous plaques within the walls of the arteries that supply the myocardium. Angina pectoris (chest pain) and myocardial infarction (heart attack) are symptoms of and conditions caused by coronary heart disease.

Over 451,000 Americans die of coronary heart disease every year. In the United Kingdom, 101,000 deaths annually are due to coronary heart disease.

Cardiomyopathy - literally means "heart muscle disease". It is the deterioration of the function of the myocardium for any reason. People with cardiomyopathy are often at risk of arrhythmia and/or sudden cardiac death. There are two kinds of cardiomyopathy, extrinsic and intrinsic cardiomyopathies.

Extrinsic cardiomyopathies are cardiomyopathies where the primary pathology is outside the myocardium itself. Most cardiomyopathies are extrinsic, because by far the most common cause of a cardiomyopathy is ischemia. The World Health Organization calls these specific cardiomyopathies:
  • Alcoholic cardiomyopathy
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Nutritional diseases affecting the heart
  • Ischemic (or ischaemic) cardiomyopathy
  • Hypertensive cardiomyopathy
  • Valvular cardiomyopathy
  • Inflammatory cardiomyopathy
  • Cardiomyopathy secondary to a systemic metabolic disease
Intrinsic cardiomyopathies are weaknesses in the muscle of the heart that is not due to an identifiable external cause.
  • Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) - most common form, and one of the leading indications for heart transplantation. In DCM the heart (especially the left ventricle) is enlarged and the pumping function is diminished.
  • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM or HOCM) - genetic disorder caused by various mutations in genes encoding sarcomeric proteins. In HCM the heart muscle is thickened, which can obstruct blood flow and prevent the heart from functioning properly.
  • Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) - arises from an electrical disturbance of the heart in which heart muscle is replaced by fibrous scar tissue. The right ventricle is generally most affected.
  • Restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM) - least common cardiomyopathy. The walls of the ventricles are stiff, but may not be thickened, and resist the normal filling of the heart with blood.
  • Noncompaction Cardiomyopathy - the left ventricle wall has failed to properly grow from birth and such has a spongy appearance when viewed during an echocardiogram.
Cardiovascular disease is any of a number of specific diseases that affect the heart itself and/or the blood vessel system, especially the veins and arteries leading to and from the heart. Research on disease dimorphism suggests that women who suffer with cardiovascular disease usually suffer from forms that affect the blood vessels while men usually suffer from forms that affect the heart muscle itself. Known or associated causes of cardiovascular disease include diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperhomocysteinemia and hypercholesterolemia.

Ischaemic heart disease is another disease of the heart itself, characterized by reduced blood supply to the organs.

Heart failure, also called congestive heart failure (or CHF) and congestive cardiac failure (CCF), is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body.

Hypertensive heart disease is heart disease caused by high blood pressure, especially localised high blood pressure. Conditions that can be caused by hypertensive heart disease include:
  • Left ventricular hypertrophy
  • Coronary heart disease
  • (Congestive) heart failure
  • Hypertensive cardiomyopathy
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
Inflammatory heart disease involves inflammation of the heart muscle and/or the tissue surrounding it.
  • Endocarditis - inflammation of the inner layer of the heart, the endocardium. The most common structures involved are the heart valves.
  • Inflammatory cardiomegaly
  • Myocarditis - inflammation of the myocardium, the muscular part of the heart.
Valvular heart disease is any disease process involving one or more valves of the heart. The valves in the right side of the heart are the tricuspid valve and the pulmonic valve. The valves in the left side of the heart are the mitral valve and the aortic valve.
  • Aortic valve stenosis
  • Mitral valve prolapse
  • Valvular cardiomyopathy
There are too much illnesses that can plagued out heart, which is probably the one of the most important part of our body, if not the most important. So we have to take care of it always. And one way to take care of it is by using this new product that will help us maintain a healthy life and a healthy lifestyle.
