Impotence is a 4-letter Word!

Impotence or erectile dysfunction has many different causes. But no matter how an individual end up having this sexual illness, his life will be surely undergo several drastic changes. ED’s effect on an individual may vary but it can all definitely be life-altering. But the effects of impotence are not limited to the person who has it, but extends to people around him, especially his partner.

There are two leading effects of erectile dysfunction that are biological in nature, and those are prostate cancer and bowel cancer. Prostate cancer is a disease in which cancer cells develop on one’s prostate, a gland in the male reproductive system that is responsible in the production of one of the fluids that make up semen. This disease causes pain diffuculty in urinating, both of which can be very hard for a person suffering it. Bowel cancer, on the other hand, includes the growth of cancer cells on the colon, rectum and appendix, which basically disrupts one’s digestive process. Both these diseases are also leading causes of death among men.


But the biggest effect that impotence has on an individual is the feeling of sexual insecurity. The thought of not being able to perform for his partner is a big blow on a man’s self-esteem and ego. This in turn will lead to feelings of hopelessness that can definitely affect everyone around him. After all of these, his mental, emotional and social functions will also suffer.
